Extensible Test Information Management System (XTIMS)
HE-Aviation offers a software solution to support the distinct disciplines of flight test planning, measuring planning, flight test execution, reporting and scheduling within a single integrated system.
For many years aircraft manufactures have devoted considerable work to demonstrate that an aircraft met specific requirements. The indicator of credibility lies primarily in the award of Type Certification, marked by a Certification of Airworthiness. XTIMS is an exclusive product recognized by major aerospace corporations worldwide that has incorporated a set of standard features, to decrease the time to certification and lower recurring and non-recurring development costs. XTIMS covers a range of economic concerns for the flight and space industry: from identifying test-specific requirements and planning up the test protocol of the FAA/ATA/DOD, to cost and budget estimating for flight test programs. The program has been designed to increase the knowledge base by seamlessly linking a complex array of strategic flight test business process into a logical flow, therefore leading to a path of improved decision making and achieving dramatic cost savings.
Technical Features:
Function:
XTIMS employs a structured methodology, that identifies test specific requirements from a business process perspective to deliver the information needed. A business process map outlines key business processes, focusing on those processes that maximize the Return on Investment (ROI) while supporting the distinct disciplines of flight test planning from: measuring planning, to reporting and scheduling within a single integrated system.
Your Gains:
- Compared to traditional methods of software, cost of re-engineering and customizing is 60% less
- Cut recurring costs by an average of 30%
- Increase departmental efficiency at an average of 87%
- Improve your customer confidence
- Allocate human and material resources effectively, and provide a clear vision to management of the current state of the flight test program
Overview
To meet the economic concerns of aircraft manufacturers, the system incorporates the following core functions:
Requirements
XTIMS supports all major interfaces to aircraft related bus and data systems such as: ARINC 429/629, MIL-STD 1553/1653, Analog & Digital discrete signals, Derived Parameter. The main objective of this planning sub-process is to manage parameters and calibrations, which may be assigned after approval, to selected tests. The result is a complete master test plan, including section specific test plans and procedural test descriptions.
Work Flow
To have a successful flight test mission the related tasks are incorporated into the flight card. It defines everything required to accomplish selected tests, including: pre-requisite events, test procedures, point duration < status of the aircraft. XTIMS prompts the user to assign pre-defined tests to a mission flight card that contains the individual tests to be conducted. The test requirements selection function allows operators to assign technical parameters.
Model Flight Test
In order to use XTIMS as management tool, it contains a flight test model (FTM) where important and valuable date must be available at all times. This important management feature avoids planning incompatible test requirements, which as a result leads into more flights at a shorter duration at much higher cost. The FTM recognizes these limitations and schedules testing accordingly, prioritizing the testing based on how much schedule reserve is available for each test point.
